Sun EZ-3 AX Recumbent Trike

Sun EZ-3 AX
Sun EZ-3 AX

The Sun EZ-3 AX has been replaced by the similar Sun X-3 AX

The EZ-3 AX is a modified EZ-3 with an aluminum frame and better components. With a similarly large cushy seat, it is just as comfy as the EZ-3 SX. It is a good trike for someone who needs exercise and local transportation but wants to go more than a few miles from home.

The EZ-3 AX’s seat is lower than the EZ-3 but still high enough to make getting on and off pretty easy. The lower seat along with the wider rear wheel track is responsible for the significantly better and safer handling. Its low-speed handling is just as easy to get used to. One of the nice things about a trike is low-speed stability. You can climb as slowly as you like and not fall over, and you can stop for a rest without getting off. If you need it we can give you custom low gears to make it climb any paved hill.

It is still heavy at 52 lb but it climbs better due to the lighter weight and higher bottom bracket, which most riders feel helps them produce a bit more power. It is significantly more stable than the EZ-3 descents. I would still take care to avoid sudden turns over 20 mph. The three front and rear disk brakes work well and don’t pull to one side when adjusted correctly.

Though not a performance trike the AX is a significant step up from the EZ-3 SX.
