Local Rides
A few of our favorite local rides:
Erie Cattaraugus Rail Trail Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization working to preserve and convert a section of the Buffalo-Pittsburgh Railway to a multi-use trail. Over twenty-seven miles long, this inactive rail line connects the communities of Orchard Park, Aurora, West Falls, Colden, East Concord, Springville and West Valley, New York. It features beautiful scenery, ski areas, farmland, villages, county and town parks and a spectacular high-trestle bridge.

Restaurants
We also have local Pizza shops and a Subway.
Terra Cotta Coffee House
A welcome addition to Alfred in 2003 Terra Cotta offers many unique and distinctive blends. Add their delicious foods from their menu and you are in for a treat. Wide variety of coffee and teas, selection of salads and sandwiches. Also board games and a cyber café too!
Nana’s Japanese Café
Locally popular unique oriental restaurant.
The Collegiate
A fine local diner operated for three generations by the Ninos family. From fish to chicken they have what you would expect from a good diner. Try their Rueben sandwich or Greek salads for a pleasant surprise. Their prices and portions are a pleasant surprise too. And check out the menus, each has a different, original piece of art on the cover. (Our family’s favorite.)
Hotels
~2 miles from The Bicycle Man, Mention The Bicycle Man, and ask for corporate rates) Includes: continental breakfast and access to large fitness center and Olympic pool.
Only 8 miles from the Bicycle Man shop. Their motto is “clean cozy rooms.” Customers say it is nice and clean but the rooms are small. There is a nice family restaurant next door.
Angelica NY ~20 miles (and a beautiful, more challenging ride) from The Bicycle Man.
Less than 1 mile from The Bicycle Man shop.
It is an older motel being remodeled with some success. Customers who have stayed there have given us mixed reviews on their experience.
Because it is on the ShortLine Bus route, (see bus info above) it is a good place to stay if you will arrive by bus.
The Bicycle Man shop is also on the bus route. I can loan you a bike to get to/from the bike shop while you are in town.
