Velotric Breeze 1

The Velotric Breeze 1 is a smart choice for someone looking for an E-Bike with a focus on light weight, comfort, and ease of use.

At 48 lbs., the Breeze 1 is about 10 lbs. lighter than most of the competition in the same price range.  That makes a huge difference lifting it onto a bike rack or into the back of your minivan.  You can even make it easier on yourself by removing the battery before you lift to get the weight down to close to a non-motorized bike.

Velotric made some thoughtful additions to the Breeze 1 to increase riding comfort.  Since the bike has a motor, a bent over aerodynamic racing position is not needed for speed.  Velotric choose to emphasize comfort by designing the riding position to be very upright, with minimal pressure on the hands, wrist, neck and back.  They used swept back handlebars to place the wrists in a more natural “handshake” neutral position and ergodynamic grips to support your hands to keep wrist drop to a minimum.  The addition of an angle adjustable stem allows the handlebars to be raised or lowered to find your perfect body position on the bike.

The Breeze 1 is also easy to use.  It was designed around a “low step” style frame.  That means you only need to raise your foot 15 inches to get on and off the bike.  No laying it down and stepping over the top tube to awkwardly mount the bike.  The control layout is simple to use, just one shift lever on the right, motor control and throttle on the left, and a large color screen in the middle of the handlebar.  The brakes are Tektro hydraulic disc brakes which take little hand strength to bring you to a stop.  There are just two sizes to choose from, the Regular fits from 4’11” to 5’8”, and the Large which fits people from 5’6” to 6’4”.  No need to own multiple sizes for each person in the family or any friends who want to give your bike a try.

We wanted a comfortable, lightweight, simple bike at a reasonable price.  The Breeze 1 is all that plus comes with extra’s I didn’t expect.  It has a front headlight, a rear flasher/brake light and turn signals powered by the motor battery.  It is thoughtful features like these that set this bike apart from others we looked at in this price range.
