BikeE recumbents went out of business in 2002 partly due to warranty recalls and partly because they were starting a new recumbent company, BIGHA. BikeE was one of the largest recumbent brands in the world when they closed. There are a lot of BikeE’s out there so we stock many parts to keep them on…
Burley Design Cooperative went out of production in 2006. Burley was started as a worker owned cooperative. This worked well when they were small but as they grew it became hard for them to retain management and engineers. There are many used Burley recumbents out there. They come up for sale occasionally. We stock parts…
Challenge recumbents are no longer made. Bicycle Man LLC was a Challenge dealer from 2000 to 2007. Challenge’s bikes were not known for their ruggedness but were known for their flat land speed.

The Sidewinder Sport Z tadpole is one of the least expensive tadpole recumbent tricycles on the market at $1595. Its seat is higher than most tadpole trikes making it easier to get on and off the trike.
In 1999 Trek Bicycles introduced their rear suspension SWB OSS R-200. With as fat a tube as I’ve ever seen on a single recumbent they were unique to say the least. They are comfortable bikes due to the rear suspension and the legendary RANS seat.
Vision Recumbents is out of business because their expansion including the purchase of Winkle Wheel resulted in debt which they could not support when the economy had a downturn. Vision’s assets were sold piece-by-piece at auction in March of 2004. Finding replacement parts for a Vision like a seat frame, USS handlebar or front fork…
