Yellowbike was the exclusive U.S. importer of the Dutch made Optima line of recumbents. Yellowbike and Optima both went out of business about 2008. This page is left here for historical purposes.
Optima was well known for their European made suspended (with suspension) recumbent bikes. They were made in Holland until 2008 when they moved to Taiwan and ceased recumbent production to focus on traditional bikes.
As you would expect from a recumbent designed in Europe, Optima’s bents had all the common Euro features: They built SWB bikes with reclined composite seats, rear suspension or dual suspension and your choice of Over Seat Steering (OSS) or Under-Seat-Steering (USS). If you are looking for a bent with these features check out recumbent models from HP Velotechnik and AZUB.
If you like USS and are interested in a lighter bike that folds check out Linear Recumbents
